Mid-century Barware Libbey Golden Plaid

$250.00Price

A set of 8 tumblers in a rack produced by Libbey and signed by M. Petti offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

Founded in 1892 in Toledo, Ohio, The Libbey Glass Company is still in business today. Known for their blown glass, pressed glass and stemware pieces, none are more sought after than their very cool mid-century tumbler sets in various colorful designs.

This set is in the pattern called “Golden Plaid”.  It features frosted rectangles and 22K gold horizontal and vertical stripes. Near the base, each glass is signed in gold script “M. Petti”.  Research has not provided me with credible evidence of what this signature means. They also have the classic Libbey script L on the center of the base.

These glasses sit in a gold tone carrier that allows convenient transport for serving and as a beautiful display rack.

A glass measures 5 ¾ inches tall with a diameter of 2 ¾ inches.

This set is in excellent vintage condition. There is no dishwasher haze. There are no chips or nicks to the rims. The graphics are intact and I find no meaningful wear. I am not sure they were ever used.  If so, it was very rarely and very gently. The gold tone rack is shiny and free of any tarnish.

This is a very stylish set of “Golden Plaid” tumblers that will be the perfect accent to any mid-century bar or dining space.
