A mid-century dining room chair with original upholstery from the Perception line by Lane Furniture.
The Lane Furniture Company was founded in Altavista, VA in 1912. For decades they were known for their cedar chests. By 1950 they saw Danish modern furniture imports begin to take hold in households and began to make styles to compete.
This chair is from the Perception line and are often referred to as “Cat Eye” chairs, due to the curved, comfortable shape of their backs. We have two of these chairs in stock. They are model 222-70. The Perception line was designed by Warren Church made its debut in 1958. They have their original Lane paper tag and ink stamp underneath.

This chair is in excellent vintage condition. There is a very small vinyl repair on the edge of the seat; see image 6. It has been well taken care of overall.
