Culver Barware with 22K Gold Accents, Piza Double Old Fashioneds
A set of 8 vintage Culver Double Old Fashioned glasses offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
Culver Ltd. was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1939. Back in the day, Culver glasses were known to be lavish and full of style with their 22K gold accents. Today they are still full of style and highly sought after as mid-century glassware. From the 1950s through the 1960s Culver gained fame and their products became collectible. They were known for being sold only at high end stores where people dressed up to go shopping. Culver was sold in 1996.
This set of 8 Culver glasses are the larger and harder to find “double” Old Fashioned glasses. Compared to their regular Old Fashioneds, these are larger, with an upper diameter of 3 7/8ths
inches and 4 1/8 th inches tall. This pattern is called Piza. This pattern features Culver’s classic 22K gold overlay with ovals on the outside and when viewed on the inside they are coated in a beautiful jade green crackle finish. The classic Culver script logo is present on all glasses. These glasses are probably from the 1960s.
This set is in excellent vintage condition. If they were ever used it was rarely and with great care. I find no nicks, cracks or significant wear to the gold.
This is a beautiful land hard to find set of large Culver Old Fashioneds.
