Mid-Century 4 Piece Kent-Coffey Forum Bedroom Suite
A 4 piece mid-century Kent-Coffey Forum bedroom suite from Snowdrift Antiques.
The Kent Coffey Furniture Company was founded in 1907 in Lenoir, NC by Harold Coffey. He was one of the leading pioneers of early North Carolina furniture makers. Kent Coffey furniture has always had a reputation of being sturdy and well built. The company was acquired in 1983 by the furniture division of Singer and soon went out of business. Their beautiful mid-century modern pieces are highly sought after today.
This set is from the Forum line by Kent-Coffey. The Forum line was produced in the 1960s. The collection was made with walnut and pecan as marked on the back. All of the pieces have the Kent-Coffey Forum mark on the inside of the top drawer. The signature of the Forum line is the very cool, long solid brass pulls on the drawer handles.
Dresser: This is a nine drawer dresser. It is marked 7362 on back. The top right drawer has a plastic built in jewelry tray. It measures 64 inches wide by 19 ½ deep by 31 high.
Mirror: The matching mirror has wire on the back and is made to hang separately, horizontally on the wall over the dresser. It is marked 7360-62 on back. It measures 43 inches by 31 by 1 deep.
High Boy Chest – This is the five drawer high boy chest. The top drawer of the bottom three is a divided drawer. The chest measures 40 inches wide by 20 ½ deep by 48 high.
Night Stand – This two drawer nightstand is marked 7360 NT STAND. It measures 23 wide by 15 ¾ deep by 24 high.
All of these pieces are in very good vintage condition. There is some minor spots on the dresser surface but nothing major. All pieces have been beautiful wood grain and have been oiled lightly to relieve them from the Colorado dryness.
This is a very nice mid-century bedroom set that is exceptionally well made and sturdy.
