Mid-century Bar and Serving Cart by American of Martinsville

Mid-century Bar and Serving Cart by American of Martinsville

$0.00Price

The American of Martinsville company was founded in Martinsville, VA in 1906. Originally they produced only bedroom furniture, expanding to dining room furniture in the 1920s and living room pieces in the 1950s.  They are still in business today.

This cart is an expandable serving cart or bar cart. It is marked underneath a drawer as 3100-35-SERVER.  It is certainly from the 1960s. It is a beautiful walnut frame with a shelf underneath.  The top consists of white melamine with walnut handles.  These two sections slide open exposing a white melamine base in the center.  It sits on heavy duty brass wheels. It has two drawers in front.  Inside one drawer is the “American of Martinsville” mark.

A vintage, mid-century serving/bar cart by American of Martinsville offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

The cart measures 39 ½ inches wide when closed and expands to 56 inches with the top sections open. It is 19 inches deep and 32 ¾ inches high.

It is in excellent vintage condition.  There is some minor wear here and there but there are no chips to the white melamine surfaces. The left section sticks just a bit as it is pulled out to the end, but opens with minimal effort.

This is a beautifully done vintage, mid-century cart for entertaining.
