They first made wicker and rattan furniture. By 1949, Heywood -Wakefield designers were being asked to produce more modern furniture lines to keep up with the times and the tastes of American households.
This is a five drawer high boy bedroom chest is model 112 from the “Modern” line of Heywood-Wakefield. It was made only in 1947 and 1948. It is in the color Heywood Wakefield called “Champagne”.
It measures 34 inches wide by 20 ¼ deep by 46 tall.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. It has some minor wear here and there but overall has been very well taken care of. I have oiled it lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness.
