Mid-century Danish Teak Sideboard and Hutch
A mid-century teak dining room sideboard and hutch from Snowdrift Antiques.
This classic mid-century two piece teak dining room hutch is unmarked so we don’t know who made it, which is a shame because it is extremely well made. It has classic Danish lines and is framed on the edges and finished on the back, allowing it to sit anywhere in a room. Based on materials and style, it is certainly from Denmark and was made in the 1960s.
The bottom section has 2 sliding doors with beautifully integrated handles. They open to reveal 4 stacked, felt lined drawers on the left side along side some shelf storage space. On the right side is one long adjustable shelf. The top section sits on felt pads. It has 2 glass doors with notched finger holds. Behind are two adjustable shelves. Along the bottom are tapered stretcher bars above round, tapered, slightly angled legs. The backs of both pieces are beautifully finished, allowing it to sit attractively anywhere in a room.
It measures 59 inches wide by 17 ½ deep by 58 ¼ high.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. The teak is beautiful in grain and color and with a little light oiling to relieve it from the Colorado dryness, it glows. The piece has much less than age appropriate wear. It was very well taken care of. There are no noticeable scratches or nicks. The glass is pristine. I have digitally frosted them in the images to reduce distracting glare and reflection.
