Mid-century Draw Leaf Teak Dining Room Table

A mid-century teak, draw leaf dining room table offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
 
This mid-century, Danish teak dining room table is not marked so we don’t know who made it, which is a shame, because it is a beauty. It is certainly from Denmark and almost certainly from the 1960s. 
 
The is the classic, but hard to find, boat-shaped design that was very popular with Danish makers in the 1960s. It is just slightly wider in the middle than on the ends, giving it a graceful and interesting edge. Each end has a draw-leaf that can sit underneath, out of sight, or pulled out to extend either or both ends by 19 ½ inches for larger gatherings. The legs taper gracefully as you would expect.
 
The table measures 35 ¼ inches at its widest at the center and stands 29 ¾ high. With both draw leaves in, it measures a compact 53 inches long. With one leaf pulled out it measures 72 ½ inches and with both leaves out, it is a spacious 92” in length.
 
This piece is in excellent vintage condition.  There are no water rings or large marks, only minimal age-appropriate wear here and there. It has been lightly re-finished and oiled. This lets the color and grain of the teak pop.  It is a classic piece and would be an eye-catching beauty in a mid-century dining space.
