Mid-century Lane Rhythm High Boy Chest

Mid-century Lane Rhythm High Boy Chest

$1,295.00Price

A mid-century Lane Furniture five drawer high boy chest from the Rhythm line offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

The Lane Furniture Company was founded in Altavista, VA in 1912. For decades they were known for their cedar chests.  By 1950 they saw Danish modern furniture imports begin to take hold in households. The Rhythm line of Lane furniture featured walnut and pecan woods and sometimes poplar, molded into clean and fluid lines. Regardless of what you read, the Rhythm line was not designed by Paul McCobb.

This high boy chest is Model 294-11.  The Rhythm line was the classic mid-century furniture line for the 1960s. The handles are integrated into the top of the drawer faces for a smooth, clean look. This chest was built on February 13, 1963. This is the 5 drawer model and measures 36 inches by 18 by 43 ¾ .

This pair is in excellent vintage condition. There is some very minor wear here and there but overall it has been well taken care of. It mainly needed a light oiling to relieve it from the Colorado dryness.

This is a beautifully done mid-century high boy chest by a renowned furniture maker.

We also have the matching headboard/footboard in the shop.
