Mid-Century Revolving Martini Bar

$0.00Price

A vintage teak veneer revolving martini bar from RS Associates offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

RS Associates was a Montreal, Quebec company that arose in the 1960s. Taking their cue from Scandinavian design, they began producing a similar style of furniture that became very popular in Montreal. Their styles and products were known as the “Quiet Revolution”. They produced well-made pieces typically with a teak veneer like this one. They went out of business in 1990.

This piece is a revolving cylindrical bar that RSA called a “martini bar”.  They also produced a matching martini coffee table and martini end tables. This piece has 2 adjustable height shelves inside.  The curved door can be rotated to close and hide or open and expose the shelving. The black melamine top is safe for mixing or sitting wet barware. It is from the late 1960s to very early 1970s.

It stands 44 ½ inches tall with a diameter of 23 1/2 inches.

It is in excellent vintage condition.  The teak veneer is in excellent condition. The black melamine is solid and free of chips or marks.  It turns smoothly and easily. There are a couple of very small veneer chips on the bottom edge. I have lightly oiled the teak to relieve it from the Colorado dryness. It has beautiful color and grain.

This is a very cool, mid-century piece that is extremely hard to find.  This is the only one I have ever seen and I don’t expect to see another one.
