Mid-century Table with Slide Top by Jesper of Denmark
A mid-century slide top coffee or end table by Jesper International of Denmark offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
Jesper was founded in 1935 in Ulfborg, Denmark. It was established by skilled Danish cabinet makers with the typical Danish high level attention to detail and quality. In 1990 the company was changed to Jesper Office as they shifted their modern styles to office furniture. They are still in business today.
This vintage table with a sliding top is teak veneer. It is solid and well made. It has a slide top that opens about ¾ of the length of the piece. It has storage space inside along with an adjustable or removable shelf. It sits on wheels that are difficult to see. It has its original “jesper/Made in Denmark” sticker underneath. It is from the 1960s or early 1970s.
This piece measures 27 ½ inches long by 20 deep and stands 17 ½ high.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. It has been oiled lightly to relive it from the Colorado dryness. It has a faint, circular dark spot on the sliding top, probably from a lamp or some other piece sitting on it. See image 4.
This is a good, sturdy piece of Danish modern furniture with nice, clean lines and storage space.
