Mid-century Teak Credenza
A mid-century, teak laminate credenza with tambour doors offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
This vintage credenza isn’t marked, which is unusual, so we don’t know who made it. It is probably from the 1960s and most likely Scandinavian.
It is a large credenza with teak laminate and tambour doors that slide back around the piece to give access to a lot of storage. The back is finished, allowing it sit handsomely in the middle of a space rather than having to be against a wall.
This piece measures 90 ½ inches wide by 19 deep and 30 ½ high. In the center section there are 4 green felt lined, shallow drawers, with storage underneath. On each side there is spacious storage with an adjustable shelf.
This piece is in good vintage condition. It is structurally sound and very solid in construction. At some point, for reasons unknown, the left legs were moved a couple of inches towards the inside of the piece. See image 12. The doors slide smoothly. On the top surface there are some signs of typical wear. On the surface you will find wear in the form of scratches. It is honest wear from years of use and entertaining. You will NOT find water rings or rippling of the teak from potted plants, etc. It has been oiled lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness and to allow the teak grain to really pop.
This is a great vintage piece that would work well as an entertainment stand or in the dining room of a home.
