Mid-century Teak Dining Room Suite

A mid-century teak dining room table with two leaves and four teak dining chairs offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
 
This is a beautifully done teak veneer dining room table with two removable leaves and four solid teak chairs. There are two side chairs and two captain chairs with arms. This set is unmarked, which is a shame. It is a gorgeous set. To the eye, as well as after extensive research, I am almost certain it is made by Klein dienst, sometimes written as “Kleindienst”.   They were a very small scale, high quality, family run factory in Oldenberg, Germany. They operated from the 1950s into the 1970s. 
 
The design of the table legs being 2 ¼“ x 2 ½“, as well as the way they are integrated into the surface of the table, all point to a Klein dienst piece. The two captain’s and two side chairs have the same arts and crafts/Danish style with their 2 ¼“ x 1 ½“ solid teak pieces. The cushions and upholstery of the chairs curve around the edge of the chair in front and back. The chairs are also cushioned and upholstered in back for comfort..
 
The table measures 43 inches square by 28 ½” high.  Each leaf adds 16 inches in length, allowing the table to sit at 43”, 59” or 75” in length.
 
The seat height of a chair is 19 inches, with a back height of 28 ¾ .
 
The table is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful teak veneer. It has been oiled lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness. It has gorgeous grain and great color.  There is a dark streak in one of the leaves.  I am not 100% certain if it is some type of darker wear mark or a natural grain.  It can be seen in image 10, and with the leaf inserted in image 4.
 
The chairs are also in excellent vintage condition with excellent grain and a light oiling.  They have new high density foam for maximum comfort and they have been professionally and expertly re-covered in a mid-century inspired Knoll/DIVA/Evergreen fabric. They have also been covered underneath for a clean and finished look.  See image 9
 
This is a beautiful mid-century suite that would feel right at home in a mid-century space or an arts and crafts setting.
