Mid-Century Lane Coffee Table

United Furniture Tiki Line Mid-century Storage Coffee Table

$0.00Price

This is an extremely rare midcentury coffee table from United Furniture's Tiki line designed by Paul Evans.

United Furniture of Lexington, NC was founded in 1924 and was purchased by Broyhill in 1981. They were known for well made furniture in many different styles. This piece is from the line they called "Tiki". It is easily recognizable by the stylized person squatting by a cactus. The brutalist styled Tiki line was short lived and is rarely seen.

This piece is a walnut coffee table highlighted with wood grain at 45 degree angles on the top and sides. Then, unexpectedly, the top slides open to reveal a storage area that looks perfect for LP vinyl. The table sits on casters, making it easy to move. The "tiki" design is on opposite corners of both sides. This piece is probably from the late 1960s to early 1970s.

It measures 20 inches across by 17 high and 60 long when closed or 76 inches when opened.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition. It has some normal, minor wear here and there but overall has been well taken care of.
