Vintage Stainless Steel Fondue Pot with Sword Skewers
A vintage stainless steel fondue pot with 8 skewers on a wooden base from Snowdrift Antiques.
This 18-8 stainless steel fondue pot was made in Japan, probably in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is marked on the bottom of the pot and the wooden base. The wooden base is thick and substantial and has holes to hold the 8 sword style skewers. This pot is larger than most and with its 8 skewers, is perfect for entertaining. It has a wooden handle and a wooden lid knob. It sits on a stainless support and has its lidded fuel pot.
The wooden base has a diameter of 9 inches. The pot opening has a diameter of 5 inches and it stands 8½ inches from the table to the pot rim. The color coded skewers are a comfortable 10 inches in length.
This set is in excellent vintage condition. There is no pitting and no dents to the stainless. There are some normal usage scratches and wear here and there. It was very lightly used as evidence by the absence of black marks on the fuel pot or the bottom of the fondue pot.
This is a large fondue set with excellent mid-century style.
